Gangsta rap acted as an outlet so these marginalized and victimized people could express themselves angrily and not in fear that they were going to be silenced for telling the truth. They used gangsta rap to tell their stories, which were not always pretty. Gangsta rap told stories of violence, hypersexuality, and drugs. Some think that presently gangsta rap is a thing of the past, however it seems to have evolved in a new form deemed trap music
